OBTAINING THE GRANT
Grants are provided to companies who are deemed competent and expert enough to warrant such financial support. WHAT IS EDG?
The Enterprise Development Grant (EDG) supports projects that help you upgrade your Small-Medium Businesses (SMEs) under three pillars:
Projects under Core Capabilities help businesses prepare for growth and transformation by strengthening their business foundations.
Projects under Innovation and Productivity support companies that explore new areas of growth, or look for ways to enhance efficiency.
Projects under Market Access support Singapore companies that are willing and ready to venture overseas.
QUALIFYING FOR EDG
If you feel that you can make use of any of the above 3 points for your project, here are a few points to check if you are eligible for the grant:
- Be a registered company and have operations in Singapore
- Have a minimum of 30% local shareholding
- Be in a financially viable position to start and complete the project
Eligible employers can also qualify for additional subsidies under the SkillsFuture Enterprise Credits (SFEC) scheme
ADDITIONAL SFEC SUPPORT
What is the SFEC?
SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC) is a national initiative to help eligible business to transform and upskill themselves through supported programmes and courses.
If you are an eligible employer who can fulfil the following criteria for SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC), you will receive a one-off $10,000 credit to cover up to 90% of the out-of-pocket expenses on qualifying costs for supportable initiatives, over and above the support levels of existing schemes.
- Have employed at least three Singapore Citizens (SCs) or Permanent Residents (PRs) every month over
- the qualifying period; and
- Have not been previously qualified for SFEC; and
- Are not in default of their SDL contributions during the qualifying period and do not have an inactive ACRA status during qualification.
